Yay, it’s Monday! Screw you, Boomtown Rats!  Everyone loves Mondays! And the crew FINALLY gets paid in "An Easy Mistake to Make."   You know what isn’t an easy mistake to make? Copying over old Photoshop files! And yet I’ve done it, like, three times already. Drives me frickin nuts.

I’d say one of the most annoying things about making a website for your company that (among far too many other things) publishes young adult novels and hosts a webcomic, is when the site becomes as dirty as a daytime hooker.  A couple of months ago, it became apparent that malware/spyware/viruses/garbage were making their way onto the site.  For the most part they let their presence be known through occasional virus check warnings (with the exception of Darlene’s machine, which they took out back and beat within an inch of its life). When none of my meagre attempts, or those of several professionals, two web host providers, and one amateur astrologist, were able to pin point the cause, it was suggested that my WordPress version needed to be upgraded.  I’d been reluctant to do that due to the time and effort (and ulcers for Curt) it took to bend existing templates to my whim. Eventually, unable to find another alternative, we did the updates last night, only to find they were pretty damn easy. Well, easy for someone who has a clue what they’re doing.  Certainly not easy for me.

The point of all of this is that the site is once again squeaky clean and hopefully Google won’t be writing such lewd and awful things about it on bathroom stalls anymore. Once again, I am reminded that I haven’t had time to play a video game since Battle for Middle Earth (and Grim Fandango before that). Why the hell don’t I own a Mac?

Although, I guess the virus problem wasn’t really with my system…

Howdy folks.

I’ve got a bit of (bad) news concerning the Mosquito webcomic. I’m gonna have to cut the strip back to once a week, I’m afraid. The other things I’m working on have taken a pretty serious hit the last while, to the point that I have to address the situation. (Man, do these notices ever suck.  How many times have you read almost this exact same thing on another webcomic?  I’m such a cliché) However, I still really enjoy doing the Mosquito comic, and there’s still an absolute ton of them scripted out (as well as a SerenityRPG gaming group that might be plotting my demise if I don’t continue their adventures in the fall). So, look for Mosquito on Mondays, and wish me luck on my more financially viable ( and non-copyright infringement laden) creative work. With its success I can finally become a self supportive storyteller, and get my sorry ass out of this soul crushing (if stupidly easy and financially stable) government job. …um… I mean… Go Club Fed!
